I had to go back and read my blog to remember when I last posted. That is the sign of a busy week. It was seriously exhausting. On Wednesday, I had an appointment before work so I ran a quick mile before leaving for the day. I ran around the lake in the neighborhood north of our house. Garmin tells me that it was sunny and 34 degrees with 22 mile per hour winds. I do feel like this week had some impressive winds. However, I don’t specifically remember the details of this run. I have still been running to and from the parking lot at work in addition to my daily runs. It has helped me pull ahead in 3rd place in the workout challenge at my gym and I’m even inching up on 2nd place. The challenge ends on February 15th and I’ve been debating in my mind about whether or not the daily run to and from work will continue. Time will tell I guess. I imagine there will be days that the running happens because I’m honestly running late to work more often than I would like. On Thursday, I had a relaxing morning before work and I enjoyed every minute of the slower pace. I had intended to run between 3-5 miles that morning but took my time so much that I only had time for 2 miles. I wouldn’t change anything about my relaxing morning though. Yesterday, I woke up early to run before heading into work early. I normally start work at 10am when the college students are on campus but I start work at 8am on Fridays because there aren’t any late labs scheduled on Fridays. I had to be at work even earlier yesterday because I had to leave early for an appointment for one of my boys. I woke up at 5, went to the gym to run 2 miles on the treadmill, went to work, took my son to his appointment, and then drove to get my daughter from her dad’s. It was a tiring end to a long week. Today, I wanted to take the time to run farther but I just didn’t have the energy. I ran a little over 2 miles and did my pull-ups, dips, and a flip at the local elementary school. It was a good workout but I’m glad I didn’t push the run. I feel so drained from this week. I hope tomorrow feels more rejuvenating.
