Winter doldrums

In the middle of winter, everything seems harder. The hope of spring isn’t here yet and the novelty of the cold has worn off. The next couple of days are supposed to be warmer and I will enjoy every minute I can. This morning, however, it is literally freezing. I ran 2 miles around the neighborhood quite bundled and was still cold. The sun was a fantastic surprise  though. Even the frozen lake had an unexpected beauty this morning. Yesterday, I ran a mile around the neighborhood and froze the whole time. I was most happy when the run was over. On Tuesday, I ran a mile around the neighborhood before work as well. Monday night, I went to the gym after work and ran a mile on the indoor track. I did run a second mile to and from my car at work though because I had to run medicine to my son at school over my lunch. It hasn’t been a great week but I’m looking forward to that turning around as we head toward the weekend.
