I think traveling to a warmer climate has convinced my body that cold weather is for hibernation. I’ve been dragging pretty bad all week. Tuesday, I went to the gym to run later in the evening. It was later than I would have liked and way colder than I would have liked as well. I did notice that our gym is doing a 45 day workout challenge though so I decided to join that since I run every day anyway. It was a little motivator in an otherwise motivation-less day. I ran 2 miles and walked for a warmup and cool down. Yesterday was slightly less cold but it snowed off and on all day. I still didn’t make it out to run before the sun set so I headed back to the ol’ hamster wheel at the gym. I only ran a mile because I was feeling so exhausted. Today, I decided to go to the gym before I went home after work. It’s been really difficult to get back out of the house in the evening when the windchill is below zero. I had forgotten that I had a meeting at 5 so I only got to run another mile but I was able to run at a quicker pace because I was feeling a little more energetic than yesterday. Tomorrow is looking like it will be even more busy so I need to plan ahead to make sure I set aside time to run. Running after dark on ice in below zero wind chills is really not my idea of a good time.
