Last night a front came through while we were at the meet. It was about 20 degrees cooler today. It felt wonderful. I was a little chilly because I tend to prefer to feel warm rather than cold but it was great running weather. I ran with one of our newer girls at practice tonight and helped her push her pace. She really dug deep and ended up with a negative split on her second mile. Seeing her push herself inspired me to run a solid mile when we got back to the school. It felt great. I kept my heart rate in the 150s but still pushed my pace. It felt really balanced. I even ran my last 400 faster than the other three to honor my athlete’s negative split effort.
