Yesterday was our high school’s homecoming parade. The cross country teams from the middle school and the high school ran in the parade. It was great to have my daughter there. However, it was about 100 degrees and sunny. I was worried that the kids would get dehydrated so I carried about 8 bottles of water in my backpack. It was heavy. It seemed like everyone had a good time though. And no one got too dehydrated so I will call it a success. I ran about 1.5 miles total and I made everyone stop for a drink after the first mile so my backpack was much lighter after that. This morning I got up and ran before it got too hot. It was still quite warm for the end of September in Illinois but it was better than it will be later today for sure. I ran three miles around the new neighborhood and stopped for a couple of sets of pull-ups. I think we are all ready for this heat to break.
