Today Mr. B ran the half marathon that he has been training for over the last few months. He hadn’t had as many long runs leading up to the race as he had hoped but he decided to run but lower his expectations for his pace. I got to track him on the course and he kept dropping his pace. I worried about him hitting a wall but he just kept getting faster! He finished 7th out of 110 in his age category and his splits weren’t too far off his previous half marathon pace. It sounds like he had a blast running with putting less pressure on himself and his recovery seems to be going well too. I was inspired by has amazing run! I decided not to do my long run today because my throats was scratchy and my resting heart rate was elevated this morning. I did run 3 miles though and it felt better than I expected! I love our little running club and how much Mr. B’s victory today inspires me to want to continue to improve my running!!
