On Friday, I ran my one mile rest day. I really thought I would want to run farther but the 15mph winds helped change my mind. Yesterday, I finally felt ready to tackle my long run again. It’s been a few weeks. My heart rate has finally settled back into my normal range, I have been getting decent sleep, and I’m not feeling sick anymore. I was pumped to get back out into my happy place. The run was the best I’ve had since starting my heart rate training and fat adaptation almost a year ago. I was able to run an average pace of 11:25 with an average heart rate of 147. I was even able to completely run up 2 of the 4 big hills without getting my heart rate above 155. Huge progress for me!! I felt great through the whole run. I really only felt fatigue during the last mile out of the 7. It was a really encouraging run. I’m planning on running an easy 3 miles today.
