I <3 endorphins

This morning I met my colleague for our pre-school run for the first time in three weeks.  It was hard to get out the door into the cold, dark morning but it was so worth it!  This week has been rough because it is really bitterly cold here right now and both the teachers and students seem to lack motivation this time of year.  I have been a bit grumpy so far this week but this morning’s run seemed to be a turning point for me.  My students noticeably feed off of my energy during the day whether positive or negative and today I was able to see the results of that positive energy throughout my classes.  It was reassuring and motivating.  My colleague and I ran 3 miles at a pretty quick pace in a windchill of zero.  Unfortunately, my colleague didn’t have the same endorphin boost as me.  He texted me mid-morning, “Sooo tired!”  He didn’t sleep well the night before though so that might have had something to do with his lack of energy.  Regardless, everyone is pumped for the weekend to arrive.  I did try to get all of my pull-up sets in today but this week I keep finishing the day with leftover sets.  I might just tackle week three of this plan again next week.  Even though I don’t feel like I’m making great progress toward my pull-up goal, I am glad that I’m at least not regressing.  I will take time to stretch tomorrow and run a slow “rest day” mile.  TGI(almost)F!
