We sat in the car for quite awhile yesterday on our drive to visit family. The snow that had started by the end of my run made the roads more slippery than anyone expected. We saw at least 15 accidents in the 90 mile drive and it took us much longer than usual. I think the extra sitting contributed to some soreness in the gluteus maximus region. That combined the fact that I hadn’t made it through my full 7 mile long run in a few weeks. I was really glad to be able to take an easy two-ish mile run through the cemetery with my husband when we got home this afternoon. I knew it would be good for my muscles to get loosened up a bit. I jumped back into the car though to drive another 90 mile drive to pick up a drum set my older boys bought off craigslist. It was snowing by the end of this drive too and my glutes are sore again. I might need to sneak in an extra stretch day toward the beginning of this week.
